Jin Ji, Biotechnology Associate Navigator, Director of Nanoscience

Spotlight: Dr Ji is a creative, high-energy scientist/entrepreneur focused on product and business development as well as  commercialization of early-stage technologies. She has led team efforts that have developed prototypes and transformed them into commercial products. As a seasoned entrepreneur Dr. Ji has nucleated novel start-ups taking them from “napkin” concept, to prototypes development, and onto commercialization. With a multidisciplinary background in both translational research and commercialization, Dr. Ji brings with her a “can-do” entrepreneurial spirit as well as expertise in fund raising, program management, and market analysis.

At present, Dr. Ji also serves as CSO & VP of a private company that develops light and electrical conductivity management nanomaterials for use in medical devices and electro-optical devices. She is also active in the international venture community with a goal of bridging investment and biosciences across the globe.

A native of Hangzhou, China, Dr. Ji has been educated in both the US and China with working experience in US, China, Singapore and Germany. She is interested in global commercialization that helps to bring technologies to the commercial product stage and into global market.  Dr. Ji’s experience spans more than 50 patents, technical papers, and proposals in biotech, nanotechnologies, and renewable energy technologies.

Dr. Ji’s other interests include music and art where she sings as a soprano with Harvard Radcliff Chorus and MIT Chinese Choral Society, paints portraits and landscapes, and paints occasional theatre stage sets for the Clover Club of Boston, a 120+ years old Irish social club of prominent business and civic leaders.

Dr. Ji brings rich experience from both academia and industry. Highlights of her career include: cofounder and VP of a private nanotechnology company, research faculty at Harvard Medical School, advisor for various technology startups, and product developer at large international biotech firm.
